shipping
Two Aquabags gets you there. Under $250 it's a flat $19.95 anywhere in Australia, however many you order.
Once you order you'll get an email confirmation straight away. Allow 1–2 business days for us to pack and dispatch, then you'll receive a second email with your Australia Post tracking number.
Delivery times after dispatch depend on where you are. Metro areas are usually 2–5 business days; regional and remote can take longer, particularly over summer.
returns & refunds
If it's not right, email us at james@aquabagsaustralia.com and we'll sort it out. No form to fill in first.
What we need
- The item unused and in its original packaging
- Your order number or proof of purchase
- An email to us before you send anything back — items returned without contacting us first can't be accepted
How it works
Email us and we'll confirm the return and send you the address and instructions. Once your return arrives we'll inspect it and let you know. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days — your bank may take a few days more to show it.
Damaged, faulty or wrong item
Check your order when it arrives and tell us straight away if anything is damaged, defective or not what you ordered. We'll make it right, and you won't be out of pocket for return postage.
Nothing here limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law. You're entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to have goods repaired or replaced if they aren't of acceptable quality.
Exchanges
The quickest way to swap a colour is to return the one you have and place a new order — that way you're not waiting on our return processing before the one you actually want ships.

beans & filling
Every Aqua Bag is a removable cover with an inner liner included — bean fill is not included.
That's deliberate. Polystyrene fill is bulky and almost weightless, so shipping it across the country costs far more than the beans themselves. You'll pay less buying it locally, and you can top it up whenever it settles.

Soft or firm?
Four bags gives you the classic bean bag feel — you sink into it, it moulds around you, and it's what most people prefer for lounging by the pool.
Five bags gives you a firmer, more supportive bag that holds its shape and sits higher off the ground. Better if you want to sit up rather than lie back, or if it's going to get heavy use.
If you're unsure, start with four. The beads compress over the first few months, which is normal rather than a fault, so you can always add a fifth bag later — taking beans back out is a much worse afternoon.
care
The bag is meant to take water on — that's what lets it sit low and mould around you instead of skidding across the surface. So if you lift it straight out while it's full, it's heavy. Open the zip a few centimetres first, wait a moment while it drains, then lift. It empties in seconds.
There's no zip pull, deliberately: a dangling tab around a pool and around kids is a choking hazard, so it's a child-safe closure. A paperclip, a key or a bent bit of wire opens it. Most people keep one by the pool.
- Rinse it. Chlorine and salt are hard on any fabric — a hose-off every few weeks is genuinely all it needs.
- Drain before you lift. Open the zip a little and let the water out rather than hauling it out full.
- Wash the cover. Unzip it, take the liner out, cold machine wash on gentle.
- Line dry in shade. Never a dryer, and not in full sun.
- Let it dry properly. After a swim, stand it on its edge for an hour. That one habit prevents almost every mould problem we hear about.
How long should it last?
Longer than most, but not forever, and we'd rather say so. Australian conditions are about as hard as outdoor fabric gets — extreme UV, heat, chlorine and salt, then rain and cold. Everything left outside in that is on a clock.
What we control is where the clock is set: 1680D fabric at 550gsm, colour fastness tested to Grade 4 or better on every colour, a cover that comes off so it can dry, and an anti-microbial treatment. Rinse it, drain it and let it dry, and it should give you years rather than a season.
privacy
We collect the information you give us when you order or sign up — name, email, delivery address, and payment details processed securely by our payment provider. We don't see or store your full card number.
We use it to process your order, send you shipping updates, and — only if you've opted in — send you occasional emails about new colourways and restocks. You can unsubscribe from any of them.
We don't sell your data. We share it only with the services needed to run the shop: Shopify, our payment provider, and Australia Post.
